A 24VDC motorized dead-locking latch which enables the latch to retract with high side-loads applied against a locked door (loads in excess of 600lbs.). Jamb mounted.
The 3620 electromechanical lock, designed for swinging doors (jamb mounted), is ideal for any door that must be able to unlock when subjected to abnirmally excessive side-loads. It is well-suited for medium security openings in correctional institutions such as cell or dayroom doors or secure openings in government buildings such as embassies. Due to the 3620's narrow depth and width, the lock may be installed within the 3" trin section (jamb or header) of a standard hollow metail frame. The installation is architectually unobtrusive yet affords superior strength and tamper resistance. The 3620 is not recommended for outdoor applications or any type of exterior door. The 24VDC motor provides a powerful, smooth, and quiet retraction of the latchobolt which makes it ideal for sleeping areas or where noise of lock operation is a concern. The stainless steel latchbolt dead-locks automatically when the door is in the closed position. The latch can be retracted (unlocked) manually by mogul key or electrically by low-voltage motor through a switching device (push button, key switch, card reader, remote control panel or software). While the 3620 is provided with a lock status switch which positively indicates a deadlocked latch for control panel lights and/or alarm devices, the switch is ideally used with a door position switch (R.R. Brink Model 201030 is recommened) for positive indication of a secured opening. The 3620 can be integrated easily with an interlock circuit which makes the unlocking of one door dependent on the locked status of one or several other doors.
