New Cylinder Dogging for 2100 Series

Yale Commercial Locks and Hardware introduces a cylinder dogging option for our 2100 series economy exit devices. This cylinder dogging feature is available on panic rated rim, SquareBolt® and surface vertical rod exit devices.

Exit devices in high traffic openings are often dogged by maintaining the latchbolt in the retracted position; this allows the door to operate in a push/pull fashion, and it also helps to prevent wear and tear on the device.

Normally, dogging is performed by the use of a hex key or an Allen wrench, both of which are commonly available to anyone, and this allows the opportunity for unauthorized dogging of the device.

To maintain the security of the opening, cylinder dogging should be used - guaranteeing that only the individual with a key can operate the dogging device.

New Steel Cover for 2100 Series

As of December 2008, Yale will be providing the 2100 Series with a new look (seen in product picture).

The latchhead cover for the rim and surface vertical rod devices has been redesigned with a more modern look. In addition, this cover will now be constructed of sheet metal steel.

The new steel cover will be provided as a running change. The current latchhead cover will no longer be available when inventory is depleted.

Exit Device Trim

Entry functions, for doors equipped with Yale exit devices, are provided by trim with mechanisms mortised into the doors, and exposed components in architectural
finishes. Yale Keying systems, as well as other keying, are easily integrated.

ADA compliance is maintained when Yale exit devices are used with lever handle or pull trims. Vandal-Resistant Free Wheeling lever action offers protection against forced entry, lockouts, and damage to the hardware.

Options include outside cylinder only and designer line lever handles.

Cylinders: Brass, 6-pin, keyed-random cylinder with two keys furnished standard, 7-pin available to order. For other cylinder and keying options, contact Strongbar.

Warranty: Yale offers a 5-year mechanical for all 600 Series trims. 1-year mechanical for all others.
